Hi! I’m Ayna.
Ayna Kaur Virk, M.Ed, NCC, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose work is rooted in the belief that healing is non-linear, relational, and deeply personal. She specializes in supporting adults and couples as they navigate grief, anxiety, life transitions, identity development, relational trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Her therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and collaborative—inviting clients into a space where they can explore their experiences with honesty, curiosity, and compassion.
Who I see
Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, identity questions, religious trauma or the weight of relational trauma. A significant part of my practice centers on clients of color—particularly South Asian clients—who are holding the tension of multiple cultural worlds, generational expectations, and stories shaped by family, faith, and community. I don't ask you to explain your culture to me. You can bring all of who you are into this room.
I also work with neurodivergent clients and bring an affirming, informed perspective to ADHD and Autism—whether or not you have a formal diagnosis. And for clients who want to weave faith into their healing, I offer faith-based counseling that holds both psychological insight.
How I work
I believe healing isn't linear, and therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded—I'm less interested in fitting you into a framework and more interested in understanding your story.
I draw from several evidence-informed approaches depending on what you need:
Narrative Therapy helps us look at the stories you've inherited or been given about yourself—and figure out which ones are actually yours.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) creates space to explore the different parts of you that might be in conflict.
DBT-informed skills offer practical tools for managing overwhelming emotions. And somatic practices help us pay attention to what your body is already telling you—because healing lives in the nervous system, not just the mind.
Sessions feel like a real conversation. I'll be honest with you, challenge you,be curious alongside you, and committed to a space where you don't have to perform.
We Might Work Well Together If…
You're tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns and ready to understand why they started
You're grieving something—a person, a relationship, a version of yourself—and need somewhere to put it
You're a person of color who's exhausted by spaces where you have to translate your experience
You want to explore your identity without having to defend it
You're in a relationship that matters to you and want to find your way back to each other
You're curious about yourself and willing to sit with hard questions
You've wondered whether your brain works differently—and want a therapist who takes that seriously
Faith is part of your life whether good or bad, and looking to process it
